Unexplained Osiris Shaft, Level 3, Giza Plateau

The Osiris Shaft Tunnels: Unmapped Passages to the Great Pyramid

Catalogued: February 08, 2026

Full Description

The deepest level (Level 3, ~30m below surface) of the Osiris Shaft, discovered by Zahi Hawass in 1999, contains a granite sarcophagus on an "island" surrounded by water from the natural aquifer. From this chamber, partially flooded tunnels extend in the direction of the Great Pyramid.

THE UNEXPLORED:

  • The tunnels' full extent is unknown (water prevents exploration)
  • They are oriented toward the Great Pyramid's substructure
  • They may connect to the Subterranean Chamber or other underground features
  • The aquifer flooding makes them difficult to map or access

THE QUESTION:

If these tunnels connect the Osiris Shaft (water table access) to the Great Pyramid's Subterranean Chamber (infrasound generator), they would provide:

  1. A hydraulic connection (flowing water as conductor/coolant)
  2. An electromagnetic ground connection (water as conductor)
  3. An acoustic coupling path (sound travels well through water-filled tunnels)

The granite sarcophagus in the Osiris Shaft — the same Aswan granite used in the King's Chamber — surrounded by water, connected by tunnels to the pyramid, is consistent with a grounding/coupling element in an electromagnetic system.
