Davidovits' geopolymer theory may resolve several "impossible" construction mysteries simultaneously: (1) How 2.3million blocks were placed so quickly (cast in situ, not transported), (2) Why joints are 0.5mm precision (liquid fills molds perfectly), (3) Why some blocks contain air bubbles and organic fibers (casting artifacts), (4) How blocks were raised to great heights (smaller batches of raw material carried up, mixed on site). Chemical analysis by Barsoum et al. (2006) found evidence of synthetic calcium-silicate-hydrate phases in pyramid limestone samples — a geopolymer signature. If confirmed, this doesn't diminish the achievement — it reveals the builders had sophisticated chemistry (dissolving and re-precipitating limestone) previously unknown in the ancient world.
