The Initiatory Technology Hypothesis
Ancient Greek writers (Herodotus, Iamblichus, Proclus) describe Egyptian temples as places of initiation where candidates underwent transformative experiences. The King's Chamber combines: total darkness, acoustic resonance, possible infrasound, electromagnetic focusing, and a sarcophagus-shaped "container" for the initiate to lie in. This parallels the sensory deprivation float tanks used in modern consciousness research, which reliably produce: vivid internal visions, ego dissolution, feelings of cosmic unity, and lasting personality changes. If the pyramid was an initiation technology, the "death and rebirth" symbolism of lying in the sarcophagus may be literal — a technology-assisted ego death and spiritual rebirth. This would explain why the sarcophagus was never a coffin — it was an initiation chamber.
