Borobudur Temple Built

Massive stepped pyramid temple in Java with astronomical alignments. Contains 2,672 relief panels and 504 Buddha statues arranged in a cosmological mandala. The structure maps the Buddhist universe in three dimensions — from the realm of desire at the base to formlessness at the summit. Shows pyramid architecture independently developed in Southeast Asia with the same heaven-earth symbolism.
