Chinese Pyramids of Xi'an

Xi'an, China (34.3381°N, 108.5685°E)

Detailed Account

Over 40 pyramids near Xi'an, China, some reaching 76m in height. Largely unstudied and off-limits until recently. The largest, the Maoling Mausoleum, has a base nearly as large as the Great Pyramid. Chinese historical texts describe the first emperor's tomb (Qin Shi Huang) as containing rivers of mercury — and modern soil testing confirmed elevated mercury levels. Astronomical alignments and geomantic principles governed their placement.
