The Hall of Records
Multiple traditions describe a hidden "Hall of Records" beneath the Sphinx or the Giza plateau containing the accumulated wisdom of an antediluvian civilization. Edgar Cayce (1877-1945) predicted the Hall would be found between the Sphinx and the Nile before the end of the 20th century. Arab historians including Al-Maqrizi described underground chambers filled with manuscripts of science and astronomy. The Inventory Stela (found at Giza, though disputed in dating) mentions Khufu discovering the Sphinx already in existence and finding a damaged temple. Ground-penetrating radar surveys by Thomas Dobecki and Robert Schoch detected a rectangular anomaly (~12m × 15m) in the bedrock beneath the Sphinx's front paws at a depth of approximately 5meters.
