The Emerald Tablets of Thoth

The Hermetic tradition attributes the founding of Egyptian civilization to Thoth (Greek: Hermes Trismegistus, "Thrice-Great"), who reportedly built the Great Pyramid as a repository of knowledge designed to survive a global cataclysm. The Emerald Tablets, ascribed to Thoth, contain the famous axiom "As above, so below" — which parallels the Orion Correlation Theory. The tablets describe hidden chambers within the pyramid containing "instruments of healing and construction." While mainstream historians date the Emerald Tablets to the Hellenistic period (300-100 BCE), the tradition claims they are copies of much older records. The figure of Thoth as architect-deity parallels Enki (Sumer), Quetzalcoatl (Mesoamerica), and Viracocha (Andes) — civilizing gods who arrived after a great flood.
