Full Description

Bayesian analysis of 2,410 radiocarbon dates from megalithic sites across Europe (PNAS 2019) confirms megaliths spread via maritime routes along the Atlantic coast, originating in NW France ~4500 BCE. Combined with ancient DNA showing Anatolian farmer ancestry in megalith builders (PNAS 2019), this proves REFINEMENTS of the technology diffused through contact networks, even though the BASIC discovery was independently made. This perfectly fits the Hybrid Model: physics provides the discovery, culture provides the refinement and spread.
