Meidum Pyramid (Collapsed)

Meidum, Egypt (29.3882°N, 31.1573°E)

Detailed Account

Originally a step pyramid later converted to a true pyramid, it partially collapsed — possibly during or after construction. This 'failure' is cited as evidence of trial-and-error pyramid development. However, some researchers argue the collapse occurred much later due to quarrying, and the original construction was sound. The Meidum pyramid encodes a seked (slope ratio) of 5.5 palms per cubit.
